Just heard a story about this on NPR this evening. Seems some people are worried that his prosecution will stir up more violence. I loved what the spokesperson said in reply, "It's a bit like being reticent to call a fire truck for fear of upsetting the arsonist."

ReplyDeleteEntire villages are being raped, pillaged, and burned to the ground. Thousands live in refugee camps in the desert under the constant threat of rape and physical attacks. The only water and food coming into the region comes from the few international aid agencies willing to chance it and people think it could get worse??

I applaud the courage of the ICC and hope our own government quickly gets behind them in a public way. I'm glad the spokesperson on NPR took a stand as well.
